Wellbeing in the time of Covid-19
Physical safety and mindful connection in the world with COVID-19:
I hope this message finds you Safe and Healthy in this new version of our world that feels rather unsafe right now.
We miss the lives we knew and the freedoms we seemingly took for granted. We miss hugs from our family, friends, and colleagues. We miss having some small sense of what tomorrow might bring. We miss the social structure we knew and could count on to support the patterns of behavior we grew up with and have lived with our whole lives. We miss the illusory sense of security we may or may not have had before this storm.
The loss of what we are attached to generally results in suffering, in grief, or fierce resistance, anger and rage, and/or a sense of defeat and victimhood. All our feelings are valid. The range of emotion is intense and unpredictable, much like the world right now. However uncomfortable, we need to feel it to heal it. Grace is on the other side of fear.

We are all in this together. We are collectively faced with an uncertain present and future. Thank goodness for yoga.
I have never been more grateful for my breath and my yoga practice as a means to process and discharge much of the accumulated energy and trauma of the circumstances.
Mindful breathing techniques can quiet the challenging emotions like anxiety and fear present in our inner space so we can access the voice of our inner teacher and our vast inner resources. Remember, movement is medicine.
